Oxytocin

Oxytocin is a hormone produced by the hypothalamus and secreted by the pituitary gland. It is often referred to as the ‘love hormone’ as it plays a key role in social interaction and bonding behaviour. Oxytocin is released during orgasm, childbirth, breastfeeding, and during any affectionate interaction. Oxytocin has also been shown to reduce anxiety and stress responses.Hormone Health Network.
